ruins at Hierapolis are many significant site, including,
the remains of the Temple of Apollo, the Gate of Domitian, the tomb of Flavius Zeuxis, Necropolis, the Plutonium, and the well- preserved
theater constructed around 200BC.
After Hierapolis, we continue to Pamukkale or "Cotton Castle" in Turkey, located above the theatre of Hierapolis. Pamukkale is the result of limestone formations built over thousands of years.
The marvelous landscape of Pamukkale has been created by this gradual formation, leaving a cotton-like image. Hot water raising from underground four springs start the temperature of 35 Celsius and is saturated with calcium salt and carbon dioxide. As the water cools, these salts precipitate and form the white travertine layers. The water is famous for its benefits to the skin and it is
believed to cure the ills of asthma and
rheumatism as well. The sight of this place so beautiful that you will think it is what heaven might look like. So do not forget
to bring your swimming suit and try the dip yourself in one of the fabulous
thermal pools there.
